Plans: You could go with a prefabricated kit which could save you several hundred to several thousand dollars. Or you can go with plans of your own which allows for originality.

Tall and narrow: If you just need space then headroom is more important then width. This works great for just storage however, if you are looking for storage along with a guest house or summer office this is not going to work.

Efficiently work: This is a project that is several days to several weeks worth of work. This doesn’t matter whether you use a prefabricated kit or start from scratch. This where being organized is key to success. So you need to put down goals, plan, keep the tools used organized. Schedule time daily or for on the weekends to build a shed.

Taking your time: Don’t allow yourself to get frustrated and rush yourself. This can lead to doing less then good work. A good shed should serve you for years and add to the value of your property; where as a poor one will decrease the value.

Learning shed styles: There are many styles that allow you to be original. A brief idea on the different styles here is a few; Glen Echo,Santa Cruz, Melbourne, Palmerston, Catalina, Arrow, Sonoma, Payoneer, Haida, Copper Greek, Telluride, and Bar Harbor.

Not unless you know how to use CAD/CAM and have experience in the drawing up of the plans. Look up plans online, there are thousands to be found.

The difficulty to build a shed yourself: This depends on how good your plans are and the quality of the materials you use. What is also is necessary is the skills to draw, measure and cut the wood, use scales, and a basic understanding of geometry helps. Most plans are designed for a single person but that doesn’t mean that building a shed can’t be a project for a group or a couple. This can add to the fun and make the building time shorter.

Storage shed plan costs: The cost of the plans are fairly inexpensive, leaving the bulk of the costs for the tools and materials. This will all depend on the size and complexity of the shed.
